Book arts: structures & techniques with Michelle Rowley
Michelle’s book arts workshop will introduce you to the world of artists’ books with a range of simple but adaptable folded book structures such as maze, blizzard, concertina, Turkish map fold and pamphlet books to get you started.
You will find out how to make hard covers to suit different book forms and use book design principles to design and make your own book with special papers and textile covers.
Michelle is an active member of the printmaking community and regularly shows her books at artists’ book fairs. She is a lecturer in Fine Art at Wirral Met College and through her research and practice in book arts has developed international collaborative projects. Her own books are represented in the Tate Library Collection and she teaches and lectures on book arts in print studios and art centres in the North West.
