Canadian rockers Colfax hit Wrexham as part of their UK Tour, with support coming from surf-punk quartet Mowbird and Brazen Swagger.

Colfax is a heavy rock outfit that spawned from Brockville, ON, interrupting calm and unexpected audiences with their syrup-drenched rock n’ roll served by way of full-frontal nerdity.

Their brand new album, “721835” is curious in the very expedient that it is not an album; the vast collection of music was released in the form of collectible trading cards in the spring of 2013. The music was recorded by Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive).

But even futuristic, forward thinking bands have a past. In 2010, their debut album, “Keys to the Midway”, earned the band a distribution deal with Universal Music Canada via Blue Sapphire Records. Hundreds of self-booked shows across their country quickly ensued. Of these shows, many consisted of the band’s self-made program designed to support the dwindling music education in Canada; a presentation the band affectionately dubbed “The EducaTOUR”. “One Big Quicksand”, Colfax’s sophomore release, was recorded and produced by up-and-comer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong) shortly thereafter in the fall of 2011.

From the spring of 2012 onward, Colfax continued to perform headlining tours in Canada as well as the United Kingdom and the United Stats of America, garnering a devoted following through their no-frills, no prisoners, no holds barred live-show. The band has played over 500 shows, all of which booked independent of outside forces.

Presently, Colfax maintain their strong work ethic while remaining largely indifferent to current trends.
