This exciting new exhibition featuring Finnish artists, will examine the creative flow between human beings and the natural world.
Maija Helasvuo’s carved wooden sculptures warmly express the tension that often exists between people, and within our relationship to the natural world, through the living form of the wood she uses.

Mika Karhu’s work is a dark exploration of the human condition, which often finds elements of empathy and humour.

Anne Tompuri’s dramatic, dark landscapes express her emotional response to the severe contrasts that exist in the Finnish lakeland scenery.

Nora Tapper uses domestic materials, wood and ceramics, to make 3 dimensional imagery which references the home and how we live together.
The exhibition is part of an artistic exchange between Finnish and Welsh artists. The Welsh artists that form the other half of the exchange are: Angela Davies, Tom Gilhespy, James Harper and Marja Bonada, who will exhibit in the Galleri Pihatto in Lappeenranta, Finland in autumn 2014.
