Helfa Gelf 2013 is the 8th annual Open Studios event for artists and makers in North Wales. It is held at weekends throughout the month of September, allowing the public the special opportunity to peek ‘behind the scenes’ right into the heart of creativity – your studio.
Helfa Gelf aims to promote you as an artist by showing and selling your work directly to the public. Helfa Gelf/Art Trail also gives you a fantastic chance to meet fellow artists as well as curators, arts officers and others who could help your career.
Thousands of people from across the UK visit over 300 artists throughout the region. Open your studio on your choice of up to four weekends in September 2013: Sep 6-8 / 13-15 / 20-22 / 27-29
Visual artists and makers of all genres, forms and media with studio spaces in Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham Counties are welcome to apply. It is essential that you have a space that you’re happy to open to the public for the duration of Helfa Gelf/Art Trail, whether it is a professional studio, gallery, your spare bedroom or garden shed. You can even find yourself a temporary workspace for the duration of the event. You could also arrange to share space with other Helfa Gelf/Art Trail artists. This year Helfa Gelf are offering a studio bursary for artists interested in hiring temporary studio space. If you have a space in mind, know it is available, but want help to cover the costs, please send us a proposal by Friday 22nd February.
Though the event is taking place in September the deadline for applications is March the first.
