A five-piece cappella group from South Africa, Simply Soweto Encha are set to delight audiences in Wrexham next Tuesday with their mesmerising harmonies, unique rhythms and enchanting a cappella sounds from Soweto. Invited by Wrexham Community Choir with support from the Arts Council’s Night Out Scheme, the group will perform at the Wrexham Methodist Church, Regent Street on Tuesday 6th October at 8.00pm.
Simply Soweto Encha celebrate South African oral and dance traditions by performing Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana and Swahili songs. The members of the group are Dumi, Jabu, Morgan, Lwazi, and Sibu who all grew up in the South African township of Soweto . They have toured extensively across the UK and have received great reviews and a number of awards for performances at the Edinburgh Festival, Buxton Fringe, Brighton Fringe and the Birmingham Festival
