Sioned Huws – Aomori Dance Performance
Aomori Project was started in 2008 in response to the Arctic conditions of Northern Japan. Since this time it has existed in various forms, developing with a wide range of artists and performers. Each year a new narrative is formally composed and adapted to diverse casts, contexts and architecture.
In this next stage, Aomori Project will further explore the complexity of structure and the relationship between the horizontal and the vertical. Through constructing systems that allow each performer to phase in and out of different compositional time frames, Aomori Project aims at a juxtaposition of organised systems, balanced on a fine line between order and chaos, being and nothingness/
