You and your guests are warmly invited to a fun-packed and intriguing day at Newtown’s newest Bed & Breakfast

Opening event, Saturday 29 June

3 – 5pm Free workshops

5pm BBQ and refreshments until 7pm

 

Sunprints workshop, led by Sian Hughes

A cyanotype workshop, guiding you through the fascinating process of making your own sunprint. Sessions last 30 minutes approximately. Booking essential.*

Re-craft drop-in workshop, led by Helen Kennedy

Transform and re-craft everyday items and utensils using found objects, including shells and beachcombing finds. All materials provided although donations of items appreciated!

During the opening, the Institute for Imagined Futures & Unknown Lands (a time traveling research unit) will present a new piece of work Dream Vessel. Using pioneering technology from the future they have captured dreams of those staying in B&B’s around Newtown. Visitors will be invited to engage with these dreams and to participate in ongoing research by the Institute, into inner dreamscapes and Transformational Dream Objects.

For one day only, Bird-Jones & Heald are exhibiting additional site-specific works in The Gro Guest House, Newtown, where they stayed recently to research ideas for the show. The Gro are welcoming visitors to view this work as well as offering afternoon tea between 1-5pm on Saturday 29 June; Pool Road, Newtown, SY16 3AL, 01686 626383

Dave Ball and Oliver Walker,  Dinner Party

Social interaction with a difference… 2 & 3 September. Dinner will be served to 4 B&B guests / owners, each linked with 4 more guests in separate booths. The table-guests as body and voice and the booth-guests as conversation-makers. Interested in taking part? Booking is essential*
