We are very lucky to have Hugh Sanders exhibiting at Undegun, upstairs in The Void, a vast dark space, which lends itself well to projections, and other installations involving light.
Hugh’s work is photography based; the title of the show “On Brevity” tells us of Hugh’s preoccupation with the temporary nature of the photographic image, which at the same time affects us deeply, when added to the multitude of similarly transient images we are bombarded with in everyday life, in newspapers and magazines, and scrolling through social media sites. He states:
“I am intrigued by the fleetingness of the image, like a mayfly it will soar briefly before falling to earth forgotten – replaced by another”.
Hugh works at Bath School of Art & Design, where he is Associate Lecturer on the BA Hons Photography course, and has exhibited extensively in Great Britain and abroad.
