Using archive recordings discovered by Paul R Jones and Guy Mayman as a starting point, Torpa have created a sonic collage exploring the texture of analogue sounds, voices and melodies.
Steven and Peter Dandy have been making music together for the best part of two decades, drawing upon a broad canvass of musical influences including IDM, experimental German music of the Seventies, radiophonics and neo-classical minimalism.
Since the inception of Torpa in 2012, they have amassed an eclectic back catalogue, currently totalling 25 releases.
Their début album, ‘Modern Ruins’ was released in October 2014 and was voted one of the 10 Best Post-Rock/Experimental/Ambient Albums of 2014 by Shoegazer Alive blog. They will be supporting Jane Weaver at Central Station, Wrexham on 6th March 2015.

Paul R Jones a Guy Mayman fel dechreubwynt, mae Torpa wedi creu gludwaith sonig sy’n archwilio gwead synau analog, lleisiau ac alawon.
Mae Steven a Peter Dandy wedi bod yn gwneud cerddoriaeth gyda’i gilydd am ran helaeth o ddau ddegawd, gan dynnu oddi ar ganfas eang o ddylanwadau cerddorol gan gynnwys IDM, cerddoriaeth arbrofol Almaenig o’r saithdegau, radiophonigau a minimaliaeth neo-glasurol.
Ers dechrau Torpa yn 2012, maent wedi casglu ôl –gatalog eclectig sydd a’i gyfanswm ar hyn o bryd yw 25 o ganeuon.
Cyhoeddwyd ei record début, ‘Modern Ruins’ ym mis Hydref October 2014 a chafodd ei hethol yn un o’r 10 Albwm Arbrofol/Awyrgylch/Cyn-Roc gorau yn 2014 gan Shoegazer Alive blog. Byddant yn perfformio gyda Jane Weaver yn Central Station, Wrecsam ar 6 Mawrth 2015.
