For the first time EVER European Opera Day is coming to Wrexham in May 2013! Each year on the occasion of European Opera Day, opera houses in Europe and beyond open their doors and invite you to discover the art of opera – and what happens ‘behind the scenes’. As part of WNO’s three year residency of community arts work across Wrexham county we are holding a very special event at Odeon Cinema, Wrexham to celebrate European Opera Day!
Sit back in your comfy cinema seats and be transported across Europe for less than the price of an Easy Jet ticket! Led by our fantastic operatic singers your cultural journey will start at home in the UK and take you through an operatic exploration of the cultural sights and sounds of Europe’s best opera houses and operas. Along the way you’ll be treated to fantastic Singalonganopera moments as you join in with our singers as the chorus on some of Europe’s most celebrated operas. You’ll also be treated to some close up performances of duets and solos from well known operas as part of the event. Europe is the flavour so the audience is welcome to come in suitable European dress to celebrate this unique event!
This is not Eurovision but a choral singing event and performance with a difference! Be educated, inspired, entertained, and energised through the power and beauty of opera. Watch this space for more information and how to book your tickets!
