Kidsmoke

Kidsmoke is a four piece band from Wrexham, North Wales. Formed in 2013, the band play indie-pop inspired by The Smiths, Joy Division and more contemporary bands like Wild Nothing, Real Estate and Deerhunter.

Kidsmoke came to prominence in April 2013 with the release of their debut EP ‘Higher’. The EP was well received and their first single reached number 7 in the Amazing Radio top 40, as well as numerous plays on Adam Walton’s BBC Radio Wales show. A new more focussed sound for their second EP ‘So Long, Emptiness’ secured the band a string of noteworthy support slots such as Paul Smith (Maximo Park), Glass Animals, Satellite Stories and Widowspeak, amongst others.

June 2015 brought the band’s biggest highlight to date, as it was announced that they had made the final six of the Green Man Rising competition, a competition that had over 800 applicants. Although not the eventual winners, they were asked to play the festival alongside headliners Hot Chip, Super Furry Animals and St Vincent.

The band, based back in North Wales after a brief stint in Manchester, have recently released the single ‘Cut Yourself Loose’.

This track proved to be Kidsmoke’s most popular to date. Blog interest and an inclusion on one of Spotify’s own ‘Fresh Finds’ playlists led to the track receiving over 20,000 plays (to date) across the different mediums.

A second self-released single, titled ‘Heartache’ is due for release on 08/04/16.

DEF NEON

DEF NEON are a band who fuse elements of indie-rock, electro, synthpop and bass music to create a sound that has been described by critics as energetic, intense and unique. Having formed in 2010 as a traditional guitar-based rock band, a mutual love of all things electronic soon emerged as the band began to reinvent their material using sequencers and samplers. The resulting sound has proved popular with live event organisers and club promoters alike, leading to support slots with 65daysofstatic, Death in Vegas, The Orb, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Algorithm and Sonic Boom Six.
