Monthly spoken word event featuring a popular open mic platform as well as special guests from around the globe. This months special act is Tommy Sissons.
Poet and playwright from Brighton currently based in London. Sissons deals with topics such as the impact of politics on youth culture, urban lifestyles and working class values.
He is a regular feature poet on Channel 4’s ‘Four to the Floor’ and is currently working with Red Bull to create an episode for their upcoming TV series ‘Stories in the Key of Life’.
Sissons regularly collaborates with the band Normanton Street they released a collective EP ‘Etchings’ last year followed by EP ‘Summer of Discontent’, a collaboration between Sissons and St. Longplayer.
Sissons is a three-time slam poet champion and last year performed a sell-out one man show ‘A Day In The Life’. He has performed nationwide and has written plays for the Chichester Festival Theatre and London’s Unicorn Theatre among other venues.
